IMED started building and designing helm control stations in 2006 and after mastering those traditional issues around waterproofing, control and functionality, IMED focused on the appearance of the helms. IMED creates helm panels that are attractive, aesthetically pleasing and fit for a superyacht. IMED bespoke exterior helm stations provide an unprecedented level of control from the decks. The helm stations are designed to suit any installation and crafted in carbon fibre, membrane or glass.

Pitch angle indicator

MED’s Pitch Angle Indicator (PAI) is a propeller pitch angle display unit. The angle is displayed using high intensity LEDs for clear visibility in outdoor helm stations. The design is microcontroller-based which makes it easy to configure and eliminates the need for any trim pots. IMED’s PAI will work directly off most existing propeller pitch feedback units, basically any Potentiometer from 1k to 100k.

The IMED Load control Module (LCM6) monitors electrical system load and turns consumers
on/off as required to prevent or minimise risk of overload. There are six load control outputs and two alarm/aux control outputs. With stand alone generators, Island power systems and ships, this load control system can maintain a better, more-even average load reducing generator issues like glazing and premature smoking.

The IMED rudder angle indicator is for use behind an overlay, the product consists of a microprocessor circuit board with LEDs.
The signal from the rudder can be any Potentiometer from 1k to 10k. This unit will work directly off most existing rudder feedback units. Setup is easy with simple buttons on the back for logging port, starboard and center rudder positions. We have recently improved this with an expanded scale feature. You can now have more detail around the center position - where you need it.

Custom designed to suit any vessel, old style or new, we can match the panel to the rig colour. We design our own hinges to address the issues around curved surfaces and water proofing and pay close attention to creating helm stations which suit the yacht's aesthetic.

There are optional settings which even allow for control of 12 vdc LED lighting from a 24vdc supply. We have been using these for control of the status lights and backlighting on our helm stations.
