InfuGreen 810 GreenPoxy Used to Infuse New Couach Fly 86/2600 Motor Yacht - The Largest Bio-Epoxy Hu
Samantha Keen
Sicomin’s InfuGreen 810 bio-based epoxy infusion resin has been used for the infusion of the new Couach Fly 86/2600 Motor Yacht – one of the largest structures to be infused with bio-resins to date, and by far the largest yacht hull.
Sicomin’s InfuGreen 810 was used to vacuum infuse the 26-metre, 52 tonne superyacht’s hull, deck and superstructure producing a lighter, faster, more durable yacht, and reducing overall fuel consumption significantly.

MaxCore
Redefining Sandwich Core Infusion Technology
Redefining Sandwich Core Infusion Technology
MaxCore is a new method of dry fibre insertion into sandwich core sheets for infusion manufacturing of large composite parts for civil engineering, transportation, wind energy and marine industries. Dry fibres are inserted into foam in multiple orientations and are responsible for 100% of the mechanical properties of the infused processed core. Fibre insertion is precise and consistent, resulting in a 70% fibre content by weight of infused glass.
GreenPoxy® by Sicomin
Next generation bio-based epoxy resin systems
Next generation bio-based epoxy resin systems
A new generation, environmentally enhanced, clear and waterproof epoxy system with over 50% of products molecular structure derived from plant and vegetable matter. Achieves tough and hard wearing gloss laminates. Suitable for laminating, injection moulding, filament winding, press processes and casting.
Bio Foaming Epoxy
A Bio Foaming Addition to the GreenPoxy® Range
A Bio Foaming Addition to the GreenPoxy® Range
PB 360 GS is the fifth product in the GreenPoxy® offering. Allowing the ‘in situ’ production of a shaped low- density epoxy foam core, the two-part system with 37% bio-based carbon content offers good adhesion to a variety of materials and low water absorption. It is particularly suited to foam cored components with lightweight glass, carbon or natural fibre laminates, for example for sporting goods, paddles and surfboards with complex shaped cores.
SR 1280
Fast Curing Epoxy
Fast Curing Epoxy
This Lloyd’s Register approved, fast curing epoxy was developed in response to manufacturers looking for a low viscosity, easy hand-laminating system. Used in conjunction with Sicomin’s range of hardeners, the products can be mixed for intermediate reactivity. During Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) tests, SR 1280’s Tg onset is calculated at approximately 100°C therefore demonstrating good mechanical properties. It is ideal for the manufacture of masts, hulls and roofs.
SR 8100
Very low viscosity system for Infusion and RTM
Very low viscosity system for Infusion and RTM
In addition to Lloyd’s Register certification, SR8100 has also achieved Germanischer Lloyd approval and is already used by many of Sicomin’s Marine customers. A two component system, SR 8100 is compatible with a variety of hardeners offering users greater flexibility in terms of working times and allows the manufacture of a wide variety of small to large components with rapid remoulding time.
